Hej! As you already know I was in Copenhagen this weekend. It was my first time – and for sure it was not the last time. Such a wonderful city! I got invited to experience the Roskilde Rising concert. But I will tell you all details right after the jump!
So people, I would like to tell a little bit about my short (but wonderful) trip to Copenhagen before showing you
some many pictures! Music Export Denmark was so friendly to invite me and a few other bloggers from Germany, Norway and Netherlands to experience not only the city, but also a cool event called Roskilde Rising. But now you might wonder what Roskilde Rising is? Well, I am sure that you all know the legendary Roskilde Festival?! It takes place each summer, this year from June 29 to July 6, and to warm up for the Festival Music Export Denmark organized this concert called Roskilde Rising. There where four up-and-coming bands playing at a cool venue. Mont Oliver was definitely my favorite of the night!
After my arrival on friday night we, the bloggers and the whole crew, had some dinner and drinks at Paté Paté, located in the Meatpacking District. It is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Copenhagen, so if you go to Copenhagen make sure to go there! I really enjoyed the good (veggie) food and some red wine.
On saturday we had a busy schedule. After breakfast we went to Freetown Christiania. Such a crazy but also cool hippie-like place. I didn’t like the so called green district in front of it, but Christiania was worth to go through this weird green district. Then we had lunch at Atlas Bar. If beet root juice and veggie Mexican tortillas sound appealing to you, it is a must for you to go there! 😉
Then we had about 2,5 hours free time. After a little shopping at Bik Bok, crazy me went to ACNE Archive because I hoped to find some Pistol or Track boots. Haha. It was disappointing for me, because it was a very small selection of old collections, not so many shoes and those they had where all too big. Also the prices where not very cheap compared to the outlet I once went to in Sweden… From there I walked about 30 minutes on the riverside to go back to the hotel and to get ready for the evening program and the last night in Copenhagen!
At 6 pm crew drove us to Folkets Madhus, a very special and unique place to have dinner. It’s outside of Copenhagen center in an industrial area! Michael, the chef and host, made a three-course dinner with local and organic ingredients only. It was so so good 🙂 After dinner we drove to VEGA, the venue for Roskilde Rising concert! The four bands who played there are up-and-coming bands, probaly the next Danish superstars. They all will also play at Roskilde Festival, which is a great chance for them! The band Blaue Blume had a very unique and cool sound, Communions where very young but also very talented, The Awesome Wells where really awesome, but my favorite band of the night was Mont Oliver. All in all it was a great evening. Not only all the bands did a great job, also the Music Export Denmark team did everything right!
It was a great time in Copenhagen and I am thankful for this expercience! Unfortunately I can’t go to Roskilde Festival in June, because I will be on holidays in Croatia at that time 🙁 Oh my… The Rolling Stones (my favorite band everrrr!) will be playing there, so I am really really sad to not go there and to see them live. But hopefully I can make it next year to Roskilde. By the way: Are you planing to go to a Festival this summer??
Now it’s time for you to enjoy the pictures and I hope you liked my Travel Diary for Copenhagen!
