paris with louis vuitton – part I

hotel_le_bristol_paris_1

Now it’s time to tell you everything about my trip to Paris. As you know already, Louis Vuitton invited me to Paris to get an exclusive insight into the world of Louis Vuitton, that felt surreal and like a little time journey trough 160 years of history and tradition of this great luxury Fashion brand…

When looking at those pictures and thinking about all those beautiful memories I really get goosebumps. And to be honest, it was not easy at all to write this post or to find the right words. But let me try to give you a feeling of how these two wonderful days looked like and to share with you this great experience. Of course I can’t put all words, thought and pictures in one single post, it would be way too much information. So this week I have this new series called „Paris with Louis Vuitton“ where I will tell you all details day by day. Today I am starting with part I where it’s all about a visit to Maison Louis Vuitton at Champs Eyleeses…

A little Insta-Diary: Good Food, the view from Espace Culturel LV, at the Hotel…

I’m pretty sure you got a little impression of what you can buy and see at the Maison Louis Vuitton at Avenue des Champs-Élysées with all those pictures. But now let me tell you more about the first day in Paris with Louis Vuitton.

First destination after arriving at the airport was the hotel Le Bristol. We did not have time to go to our rooms, because we had to go to a lunch and time was running. So we only did the check-in and dropped off our bags and at least we got to see the beautiful lobby of the 5 star luxury hotel and an idea of how the rest oft he hotel must looked like. Then the lovely LV team and I had sushi at Miss Kô (51 Avenue George V,75008 Paris) which I can only recommend to you. It’s close to Champs-Élysées and their interior and the food pretty amazing.

After lunch we had an appointment at Maison Louis Vuitton, the flagship store in Paris. The beautiful building with landmark status was built in 1930 and got renovated and reopened by Louis Vuitton in 2005. I remember my first trip to Paris in 2004 with my sister and that we were standing in front of the Maison that was covered with colorful and big monograms while it was still under construction. I was 16 years old and dreamed of buying a Louis Vuitton bag one day – and now 10 years later Louis Vuitton is inviting me to Paris for such an expercience. Hello? This sounds totally crazy, but it sounds so amazing at the same time and I am so happy about it. Anyway, now back to the Maison. First thing I have to say that tourists are welcome in the store evening if you only want to take a look at their products. They even have a concierge service for tourists, where they can tell you all about the best restaurants and shops in Paris or just call a taxi for you if you need one. What I loved most about the store is the architecture and the setting of all collections and departments. The have so calles levels for each department, which is good because when you enter the room you only concentrate on what you want to see. A the Maison youl will find a little fashion library, a hot stamping are, trunks, accessories, jewelry, shoes, bags and a womens and mens department. On the second floor we had the pleasure to enter the VIP room that is normally just for selected customers that want to order custom-made pieces. For a moment I felt like Beyonce and I was speechless, sitting in this fancy VIP room with a great service and the best knowledge about the brand and all products by a lovely sales person. The world of Louis Vuitton is exclusive, so special and pure luxury. It’s all about good craftsmanship, passion and tradition. You will always find much love for details in every store and every product. And to me that is what Louis Vuitton is all about and what I love about the brand.

Then we went to the next destination: The “Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton”, that is an exhibition in the same building as the flagship store. We took the entry on the side street and entered a totally black, covered with black carpets all over elevator where is was totally dark for about 15 seconds. If you wonder why? It’s simple but still brilliant: It’s dark because they want to to forget everything you saw before and concentrate on what you will see at the exhibition. We did a guided tour through the IN SITU-1 exhibition that was created by Andrea Bowers. When she arrived in Paris she got the plain white room and the task to fill it however she wanted to. Her idea was to talk about feminism and minority groups by showing installation art, photos and drawings. It was very interesting to learn so much about the artist and her ideas. And what else you should know? The entry to Espace Culturel is free, so next time to are in Paris, make sure to visit the exhibition and the flagship store as well.

In the evening we wanted to go to the concept store Colette, where 3 years ago I met Karl Lagerfeld while shopping. This time we arrived 10 minutes before the store was closing and can you guess who was standing right next to us? It was Angelina Jolie and her kids. She looked amazing and just flawless, so much better than on any photo I ever saw of her. Girl crush! We left the store with a big smile on our faces and a blurry picture of Angelina on our phone, that we took after leaving the store, hehe. Back at the hotel I didn’t have so much time, so I jumped into the king size bed (which was beyond amazing and so comfy!) and then I dressed up for dinner at La Société. The restaurant is beautiful, the interior and the atmosphere are great and the food as well. Oh and next to our table we saw football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It was the perfect way to end the first day in Paris.

// Part II will go live in two days!

________

Hehe!

// Übermorgen geht’s dann weiter mit Teil 2!
